JM is a Doctor of Physical Therapy, a Board Certified Orthopaedic Clinical Specialist, Residency trained, Certified in Dry Needling Level I&II, and a CrossFit Level 2 Trainer.
Dr. John Mark (JM) Skinner completed his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from South College in Knoxville, TN. This rigorous training led him to pass his board certification in Orthopedics, making him an Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) which is a prestigious title considering only 6% of physical therapists earn this designation. He specializes in treating a variety of orthopedic conditions including sports injuries, CrossFit athletes, weightlifters, runners, post-operative care and return to exercise.
JM is a Mississippi native and graduated from Mississippi State University with a degree in Marketing in 2010. Prior to finding his passion for physical therapy, JM worked for a Christian non-profit in Buenos Aires, Argentina, as a small business exports manager for the State of Mississippi, and as a salesman for a tech startup in Jackson, MS. His enthusiasm for connecting with and helping people, as well as his strong interest in fitness and movement eventually directed him toward a career in physical therapy.
JM’s craving for adventure and love for the mountains guided him to Fort Collins. In his free time JM enjoys spending time with his wife Lisa and his daughter, reading, snowboarding, working out, and exploring nature through hiking and hunting. You can also catch him coaching classes at CrossFit Evolve a few times weekly.
